My Photography

Today, I am exploring my creative side by continuing my passion of photography. Now using my Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max, I have incredible zoom and digital capabilities with the camera on this phone. Being constantly inspired by my environment, I am constantly taking pictures and learning new techniques while developing my own individual photographic style. I have particular interest in local view photography for the tourism industry.

All images are for sale and with a printing partner I can pass down great discounts of my images printed to canvas, with or without a thin frame. Be sure to check out my different photography pages on this website.

Things have sure changed since I first studied shooting, developing and printing black and white photography back in 1978. Studying for my BFA, Photography was my minor study (Graphic Design was my major), back at the Swain School of Design in New Bedford, MA. Unfortunately the college no longer exist and the art program is now part of the UMass Dartmouth's art curriculum.

These days, my iPhone has taken the place of my Nikon D-50 digital camera. After several fails with the Nikon D-50 and utilizing the compactness, availability, excellent camera lens and the ability to quickly take and download image files to my MacBook pro, I have gravitated to the iPhone with its excellent camera features. Because the iPhone fits in your pocket, one can take a picture at a moments notice or impulse. And with the advent of social media it has become customary to share images online for quick acknowledgment or delivery.

Call for Art for Upcoming Roslindale Library Art Gallery Exhibit.

Locally, here in Roslindale, I have submitted two photographs for an upcoming juried show called "The Essence of Roslindale", which will be at the Roslindale Branch Boston Public Library. Deadline for submission is Jan 3, 2024.

My 2 submissions pictured below are called Village Courtyard Alley and Morning Snow on Birch Street.

Village Courtyard Alley

Village Courtyard Alley photograph was taken in 2007. It was my attempt to document and glorify the Village Courtyard's brick and its deep orange color.  The photograph marks the time when the gates were onced used at the entrance to Birch Street.

Morning Snow on Birch StreetMorning Snow on Birch Street photograph was taken in 2005 while walking on a snowy morning to the Roslindale Village train station to catch a morning train to work. It was my attempt to capture the features of the Birch Street buildings and storefront architecture while creating an undefined but recognizable winter scene. Although the figure with the umbrella was the inspiration for this photograph, I feel helped create a mood for that damp, dark and snowy morning as I remember it as I passed through Birch Street that morning in Roslindale, MA.

Boston's new view 52 stories up

I recently visited the all new 360 degree view of Boston. VIEW BOSTON It's 52 stories up with breathtaking views on top of Boston's Prudential Center, which is one of the tallest buildings in New England. It's an interactive experience. And while your there check out the restuarant The Beacon, and a an open air bar Stratus, and gift shop. @Viewboston

I just got back from a fun filled trip to Europe - Paris, London, & Devon, UK 9/2023

Of course while traveling in Europe, you can bet I had my iPhone documenting anything that my visual awareness deemed image worthy. Heck, I even had to buy more storage space from Apple to accommodate all my new photos and videos taken. Here on my website I will be posting my favorite images from the 3 locations and will ultimately provide links of more photos from those travel destinations on my Instagram account. (Currently, I have only uploaded local view Boston pictures to my Instagram account, and trying to figure out how to add a second catagory to my Instagram account in an effort to keep the groups of photographs seperate.)

In memory of the 23 people killed and hundreds injured 136 years ago this month when the Bussey Street bridge collapsed in Roslindale. The bridge was rebuilt to the modern day bridge it is today.
